Why not take the birthday party to the ballet for this themed event, using some great Ballerina Party Supplies? It'll be a night to remember, especially if the guests are younger and interested in ballet to begin with. Your invitations should state that attendees will need to dress quite formally for the occasion, and give a time for pick up and drop off as well. Leave the gifts, cake and celebrations for after the show, so that your little ballerinas don't mess themselves up before the big event. Since pink is usually what we associate with ballerinas, make a strawberry cake complete with pink icing and a ballerina figurines (one for each guest) perched on top. Or, create cupcakes or mini cakes (like Little Debbie cakes, but pink) for each person in attendance. Make sure to have pink and white napkins, cutlery and plates available, with some tiny ballerina slippers or ribbon used for the napkin holders. On the invitations, ask everyone to dress as ballerinas (minus the tutu, and no shoes required). Have homemade tutus on hand (tulle sewn together with an elastic the size of the average child's waist - if the kids are old enough, let them sew them themselves). Offer ribbons, glitter, sequins and bows for the Ballerina Party guests to decorate their tutus. Afterwards, have the guests perform a dance in their newly created outfits, or even let them, in teams, choreograph their own routines to show off after the cake and presents. Even better, you can hire a dance instructor to come to your home and show your little ballerinas some basic moves before setting them off on their own to create a dance recital for all of the parents to see when they show up and get their child(ren).
