The Indy 500 only happens once a year, so you’ll need to make sure your Indianapolis 500 Party is a racing smash - which it will be if you find the right Indianapolis 500 Party Supplies. Luckily enough, it’s not that terribly difficult to pull off. Make sure, before you send out the invitations, that you have satellite coverage of the game. If not, arrange to have the party in a locale where the game will be televised. Also tell your guests in the invitations to bring some sort of betting money (like poker chips, pennies or chocolate coins) so that they can join in the pool. Of course, you’ll want to have a betting pool (simple is best) for the top odds favorites for your attendees, along with racing stats from previous years posted around the party room. Add some checkered flags, sunglasses, fake pit passes, toy racing cars, inflatable cars/balloons, and some racecar cutouts, and you’ve got a party in place. While waiting, you can give your guests some model toy cars to assemble and paint (in a well-ventilated room, of course). Alternatively, you can give them larger sheets of white nylon fabric, where they can create their own personalized racing sign for the event to cheer on their favorite team or driver. Food for the Indianapolis 500 Party should be simpler fare, with racing related names, such as diesel dogs, or racing-hot salsa and chips. Chocolate cars and flowers (from the winners circle) can top off the look.
