On December 14, 1947, Bill France, a racing enthusiast and member of the NSCRA (National Stock Car Racing Association), joined with thirty five of the leaders of all associations of auto racing to form the American national automobile sport. They developed all the rules and chose the name of NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing). NASCAR was finally officially created February 21, 1948. The first winner of NASCAR was Red Byron, who received a purse worth $1250. In 1950, the first Super speedway is born in Darlington. In 1960, the first television NASCAR report aired by CBS from Daytona. In 1964, the first pilots’ deaths occurred with Fireball Roberts, Joe Weatherly and Jimmy Pardue. This made safety a greater consideration and thus the roll cage was produced to protect pilots. NASCAR Racing party supplies like paper plates, napkins, and cups are a nice way to complete a NASCAR Racing Party Theme. Party decorations using real NASCAR car piñata as centerpiece, can also double as party prizes. Party favors like NASCAR stickers and racing stripes have a sporty zing that revs up a NASCAR Racing Party Theme.
