The Sixties were an enormously fun decade, easily remembered with surprising Sixties Party Supplies. Why not have a real-live ‘Love-In’ as your next shindig, and recreate the swinging sixties all over again? Mimic a real ‘Love-In’ that occurred in 1966 by using similar wording in your psychedelic invitations: “Bring the color gold… bring photos of personal saints and gurus and heroes of the underground… bring children… flowers… flutes… drums… feathers… bands… beads… banners… flags.. incense… chimes… songs… cymbals… symbols… costumes.” Don’t have a lot of planned events for this kind of party; instead, let your attendees do their own thing, at their own pace. Have separate areas for separate types of activities: a poster-making area, complete with paints, poster boards and feminist and/or political literature from the era; psychedelic posters on the walls and pillows on the floor for chill-out space; gardening supplies in the backyard along with organic seeds for planting; Sixties music playing in the background with enough space to dance; and TV trays full of either vegetarian-only cuisine, or TV dinners. In another room, have classic sixties TV shows playing, like the Monster Mash, Batman, and 007. And don’t forget a corner for the kiddies, complete with Gumby toys, Etch-A-Sketches, old Barbie dolls, Hot Wheels, Mr. Potato Head, Easy Bake Ovens, sno-cone machines and G.I. Joe. Scatter some old books around from the era as well, and you’ll have pegged the sixties without a problem (Dr. Seuss, Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys, and ittle Golden Books).
