| The Superbowl is the biggest game of American Football. It occurs once a year usually on Sunday during the month of January or the start of February. The two best teams one from the NFL and one from the AFL play each other for the chance to reign as world champions. The prize for the winners is money and the coveted Super Bowl ring. The winner of The Superbowl receives a place in NFL history and bragging rights until next season. From the moment September starts till Superbowl Sunday, football fans hope, pray, cheer, root, rub the head of their lucky doll, paint their faces, and wear team jerseys to support their favorite team. RAIDERS! RAIDERS! Football fans are outrageous and dedicated to their team. They have tailgate parties that can start as early as 8am, as soon as the stadium parking lot opens the day of the game. Occupying time before the game football fans throw balls, barbecue, listen to music, watch football highlights on portable TVs and chant for the coming victory of the home team. Now imagine all of this magnified by 200 times that is the Superbowl. The first Superbowl was January 15, 1967. In the United States, The Superbowl is the annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL) known as American Football in other parts of the world. The Green Bay Packers opened the Super Bowl series by defeating the AFL champion Chiefs. The Packers collected $15,000 per man and the Chiefs $7,500-the largest single-game shares in the history of team sports at that time. One of the earliest examples of a game similar to football existed in ancient China. Documents reveal that around 200 BC a game called Tsu Chu (literally 'kick ball') was played with two 30ft-high bamboo poles acting as goals.
