Kids can’t get enough of toys, so it’s wise to have lots of it around at a children’s party, whether as playthings, part of activities or as gifts and favors.
While shopping for toys keep in mind the age of the kids you are expecting at the party. Toddlers love soft toys, simple building blocks and squeezy toys like rubber duckies. Get some pinwheels too especially if you are throwing your party outdoors and watch them mesmerized by the colorful display for hours.
If you are expecting a little older children at your party, get more action based toys. Boys always love toy cars they can race each other with; most girls enjoy playing with them too. Barbie dolls are always a favorite with little girls and they would love to play beauty salon with them at a slumber party. If you are inviting siblings as well make sure you have enough variety of toys at your party to cater to a wide age-group of kids.
Take cue from the theme of your party too while selecting your toys. If you are throwing a beach side party for example it would be best to have some shovels and pails around so the kids can play around in the sand. A cowboy and Indians themed party however would need toy guns and bows and arrows. Toys like rainbow coils, hula hoops and bubble bottles can keep children occupied for hours.
Whenever possible, along with candy and other goodies toys should be included in party favors as well. This allows the kids to take back something home and enjoy for some time to come.
Did you know that tambourines make great part favors, party prizes and even party musical instruments. If you want to have a really great gift, have the personalized with each guests name and a few musical notes...maybe even the date of the party. They are a favor everyone will keep.
